How The Home Briefing builds a fair comparison.
Our comparisons begin with product fit and manufacturer-listed specifications. We have not hands-on tested the products. Commercial relationships do not determine which products appear or how they rank.
Our sourcing standard
- Primary sources first: manufacturer product pages, technical specifications and manuals.
- Comparable units: category data is converted into a consistent schema before products are compared.
- Visible uncertainty: missing or partially verified values are not silently estimated.
- Price snapshots: displayed prices are observations, not guarantees, and may change after verification.
How recommendations are ordered
Each category uses decision criteria that match the purchase. Portable power comparisons emphasize advertised battery capacity, continuous output, portability and price. Air-purifier comparisons emphasize room fit, clean-air delivery, operating noise, upfront price and replacement-filter cost.
Quick-finder results apply the selected budget and priority to those structured fields. Models without captured prices are excluded from budget results. Catalogue order is editorial, not an overall best-to-worst ranking. Use-case tags are starting points rather than suitability certifications. Minimum noise and filter purchase price are not matched-performance tests or annual running costs. A commercial partner receives no ranking advantage.
Corrections and updates
Specifications and prices can change. The Home Briefing reviews source data before publication and records unverified values separately. Material corrections are incorporated into the live comparison rather than hidden in promotional copy.
